The fabric design:
This bag uses a fabric I embroidered as part of my Degree course. During a visit to The Holburne Museum in Bath, I was inspired by the Duke of Marlborough's cabinet - a very decorative, rich and dark wooden piece of furniture, inlayed with oak veneer marquetry flowers.
 
The fabric for the bag front and straps is a dark red organza,  appliqued with abstract flowers and embroidery, in a glossy variegated colour thread. This is laid over a dark red crushed velvet fabric to produce a rich and opulent finish.
 
White organza ruffles are added to give the bag a lightness and delicacy.

The bag and straps are fully lined with dark red cotton.
An internal pocket is included for small items.
